Electrical Superintendent (non-exempt)

Primary Purpose

Provide overall on-site supervision and management of electrical construction projects usually requiring several crew foremen.

Job Information

Responsibilities:

– Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. and document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
– Ensure all company policies and procedures, are adhered to and provide interpretation as required in consultation with management.
– Ensure field personnel have and applies the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
– Responsible for productivity, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
– Ensure the appropriate quantity and classifications of personnel are on the project to meet the milestone dates and overall schedule while adhering to the labor man hour and cost budgets.
– Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc..
– Attend project meetings and provided the appropriate degree of input to the planning of the overall project working directly with the customer’s project management team.
– Coordinate the installation with other trades to assure the work is installed in a timely fashion and correctly to avoid conflicts and rework.
– Assure documentation and communication to project management of additional work beyond the contract requirements.
– Provide technical assistance to project management, i.e., interpretation of construction documents, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
– Assure project management approves all additional work to be performed.
– Assure assigned personnel have the appropriate knowledge skill level and personal tools per their classification.
– Review the project documents (drawings and specifications) to assure a quality installation in compliance with the contract requirements.
– Provide expertise and technical knowledge as requested to office project management staff.
– Ensure company owned and third party tools and equipment are secured and utilized properly.

– Assure materials are properly received, documented, stored, secured and installed
properly.
– Develop day-today miscellaneous materials list and assure orders are placed to assure timely delivery to support the installations.
– Complete personnel time sheets and communicate to the office for processing of payroll.
– Supervise the quality of the electrical installations minimizing punch list items to assure a smooth project closeout.
– Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
– Provide assistance and input in executing field personnel performance reviews.
– Perform additional assignments as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

– High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
– Fifteen to twenty years in electrical construction with a minimum of ten (10) years in field electrical supervision.
– Has a Master Electrician’s card.
– Thorough technical knowledge of all aspects of electrical construction (codes, technology, equipment, methods, procedures and standards).
– Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills.

Physical Demands Classification
Medium – Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
